September 25th 2014: France: Moving North

Monty the Motorhome is on an ACSI site that supposedly has 100 touring pitches, however apart from a Dutch couple in a caravan we are the only other unit. There are chalet type buildings as well, but very few of them are showing any kind of life.

Today has been all about getting some miles on the clock and moving back to Northern France.
We have probably done about 240 miles today, all in one stretch. Our aim was to get close to Giverny (Monet’s house and garden), which will be destination for tomorrow. Our first choice was a free Aire in the village of St Andre-de-l’Eure. However when we arrived all six places were taken up, so it was a case of falling back on our second choice and paying for an ACSI site.

We are north of Dreux at Marcilly-sur-Eure. Our pitch is enclosed by hedges and is very private, although as I’ve said there is hardly anyone about to be concerned with privacy.

Looks like a quiet evening ahead - we may get the hard drive out later and watch something.
