August 23rd 2016: Scotland: Starting on the home run

Monty the Motorhome is parked up by the side of a little fishing lake at Cocklakes Farm Shop, which is between Penrith and Keswick in the North lake District.

We were expecting wet weather this morning and sure enough woke to steady drizzle, which showed little sign of improvement. So that decided matters for us - the journey home needed to be started a day early.

This was the sunset view from Monty yesterday, after I had posted the blog. So beautiful it is worth including on today's.
We made our way out of Scotland, stopping once again at the Tesco store in Dumfries to fuel up. While there we popped into the adjacent Dunelm store for some cushions and ended up also buying a nice furry throw that is now gracing Monty’s seating.
Then on to tonight’s stop - another Brit Stop. We bought a few bits and pieces for a salad tea and intend having one of their breakfasts tomorrow morning. Tonight we have been joined by three other vans, so we’re all lined up next to the lake. Our immediate neighbours, Jenny and Geoff, joined us on the picnic bench adjacent to our vans and told us a great deal about their last month touring Northern Scotland. They followed the NC500 route - approximately 500 miles round the coast, starting and finishing at Inverness. Sounds interesting.

This is tonight's view; unfortunately sunset was not as good as yesterday
