April 14th 2015: Rutland Water: Baddesley Clinton

Monty the Motorhome is resting on his home drive tonight and feeling quite pleased that his wheels have had a little work out over the last few days.

The day started with sunshine, then got cloudy, before turning really sunny and warm by mid morning.
By that time we had packed up and left Lyndon Top, vowing to return again. Such a beautiful site.

Travelled back home today via Baddesley Clinton,  a National Trust property in Warwickshire. This is a large, moated house built in the late 1500's. Unfortunately the house was closed today due to electrical problems. Fortunately there are also extensive gardens and parkland. We wandered round, then had a cooked lunch in the restaurant. There's something very comforting about National Trust restaurants, they are just so English and decent.

We finished off with the Estate Walk - a gentle walk through grassy fields around the perimeter of the estate. Lovely in the sunshine.
