August 17th 2015: Norway: Skjerneset Bryggecamping 2

Monty the Motorhome is thinking he needs sunglasses for his headlights. It has been a gloriously sunny second day at Skjerneset Bryggecamping.

We used today to catch up with laundry needs, as the site has washing machines. Due to the quantity of washing we had to use driers as well - there simply wasn’t enough space in and around Monty to cope with air drying.
One drawback was the machines were all in the main building, in rooms that had a peculiar fish smell. At least the washing came out smelling fresh.

Space is at a premium inside Monty today
That took the morning, combined with a few odd jobs that needed doing. In the afternoon we walked around the area where the campsite is situated. It is actually situated on the tiny island of Ekkilsøya, off Averøya, and a number of other scattered houses make up this community. We dawdled about, admiring the substantial wooden houses and cabins, watching the comings and goings on the sea and just generally doing nothing.

This place is just so scenic
So not a lot to post today. Tomorrow it’s the Atlantic Road. Weather forecast is good, so looking forward to an interesting day.
