September 1st 2015: Norway: Sotra

Monty the Motorhome is wild-camping again, but this time on the island of Sotra, which is adjacent to the island we were on yesterday.

Sotra is a long thin island, measuring 19 miles in length, but only 6 miles at it’s widest, though it is mostly just a couple of miles wide.
We found a quiet spot to park, with a footpath down a sheltered cove that is heralded by the Tourist Information Board as perfect for swimming. True it was sheltered, but too cold for swimming today. We had a picnic lunch in complete solitude.

Moving on we travelled up to the northern most tip, which was quiet and lovely, but not really suitable for motorhomes, so returned to our lunchtime stop.

The weather today has been overcast, but this evening we were treated to the sun reappearing minutes before it set, flooding the landscape with bright orange light.
